Hi! My name is Tashia Rice, LCMHC-S, NCC, and I am founder and mental health practitioner at Bethany Life. While I enjoy working as a NC licensed mental health counselor supervisor for a variety of ages and situations, my heart aches for God’s people who experience issues in daily living. It is important to me to use my training and gifting to help others work through issues in living in a way that honors and integrates their faith and spirituality. It would be my honor to walk alongside of you through life transitions, spiritual concerns, grief, traumatic experiences (including childhood), caregiving, finding yourself again, and much more. What’s In A Name: Why Bethany?
Bethany is the name of a small town three miles from Jerusalem. This was one of the only places on Earth where Jesus found friendship, rest, and fellowship without the usual chaos and challenge found in other places.
Here He befriended a family of siblings: a brother and two sisters. At Bethany, each of these siblings encountered difficult life circumstances that caused each to reflect on their lives. The older sister couldn’t understand why she worked so hard for the benefit of others at her expense. The younger sister couldn’t understand why Jesus didn’t show up for her in the way she asked during one of the worst times of her life. The brother was so bad off that he died, and lied dormant for a time before Jesus brought him new life in a public way.
Bethany Life Counseling and Spiritual Care Center is a small place, nestled in an out of the way area where the presence of Jesus is welcomed, trusted, and sought. At Bethany, people come with various issues in living, from big to small and everything in between. Through holding sacred safe space —clarity, wisdom, and empowerment is given. And in some cases, new life emerges.
